Is an automatic watch obsolete? This is usually the question being raised in this day and age; an age where smartphones have reigned supreme in the technology space.
Sure, smartphones can do a lot of things- it allows you to set a meeting, it allows you to set a reminder, and it also tells you what the weather outlook is going to be in the coming days.
But although there are benefits to using a smartphone, telling the time in the best way possible is not its strongest suit.
To answer the question raised earlier, no, automatic watches are still here and they are here to stay.
Today, I am going to talk about the many benefits that can be had by wearing a wristwatch.
A lot of people would say to the casual watch-wearer that smartphones are the best when it comes to telling the time, but I beg to disagree. Sure, smartphones can also tell the time, but what if someone asks you what time it is and your phone happens to be inside your pocket? Fishing it out of your pocket and turning it on briefly to tell the time is much more cumbersome than a simple glance on one’s wrist, right?
Wristwatches are convenient in telling the time simply because they are timepieces that are worn on the wrist. A simple flick and glance can easily help you tell what the current time is as opposed to getting something out of your pocket.
Wearing a watch can actually make you more accountable than those who are not wearing one. For example, if you are working as a nurse, a watch can help you time your visits well. A businessman should never be late in their meetings and fortunately for them, a wristwatch can easily help keep track of time.
One of the reasons why I usually do not use my smartphone to tell the time is due to the fact that it can distract me from doing the things that I need to do. I am sure that everyone out there can share the same sentiment.
Because you can do a lot of things on your smartphone, it can be a haven for distractions and that is not something that you want if you want to be more productive.
A wristwatch can tell the time and despite the fact that they come with watch complications, those additional features prove not to be distracting compared to a smartphone.
I have to be honest, there were so many times where I asked people about their watches, especially if they are of impeccable designs.
A watch can build confidence simply because it is a testament to true craftsmanship. In fact, it can also be a great conversation piece as well.
It Can Be Treasured
Unlike a smartphone, even the cheapest watches that you can find out there are built to last. The same cannot be said to a device that requires new technology every year.
Time is Important
Tracking time is important. It is important because it helps you become a more productive individual. It is important because you do not want to be late on the most important events in your life. It is important because time is money and money is not something that you want to waste.
